
Assistant Professor Enrico L. Replan of the Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology (IESM) participated in the 5th International Conference on International Security and the Environment (ISE 2026) on 21 August 2026 at Kantary Hills Hotel in Chiang Mai, Thailand. With the theme “Navigating Conflicts and Global Challenges,” the conference was hosted by the Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration of Chiang Mai University, in collaboration with the College of Public Affairs and Policy of Khon Kaen University and the Faculty of Political Science of Burapha University.
At the conference, Replan presented his paper, “Balancing Nature and Nurture: Understanding People’s Willingness to Conserve the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services of Lagonoy Natural Biotic Area (LNBA).” The conference featured paper sessions on green and sustainable development, emerging environmental challenges, security and political dynamics, and energy, electric vehicles, and artificial intelligence transformation.
Replan’s presentation focused on people’s willingness to conserve the biodiversity and ecosystem services of the Lagonoy Natural Biotic Area, bringing an environmental science and biodiversity conservation perspective to the conference discussions.
