Quezon City, Philippines – August 14-15, 2025

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources – National Capital Region (DENR-NCR) conducted the 2025 Environmental Summit at Seda Vertis North Hotel, gathering representatives from government agencies, academic institutions, and various stakeholders to discuss current environmental challenges and strategies for sustainable development.

The summit provided a platform for dialogue on a wide range of topics, including Cicular Economy, Best practices and recent developments and practices in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for both small- and large-scale projects. Discussions focused on enhancing the EIA process to improve environmental safeguards, encourage stakeholder engagement, and align project planning with climate resilience and sustainability goals.

Our Faculty member Dr. Enrico L. Replan took part in the discussions, sharing insights related to EIA implementation, regulatory challenges, and opportunities for improving environmental compliance and monitoring frameworks.

Participation in this summit reflects IESM’s continued commitment to contributing scientific expertise to national environmental initiatives and supporting collaborative efforts for evidence-based policy and decision-making.
