The Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology hosted an introductory lecture on meteorology and a laboratory tour for undergraduate BS Fisheries students on 11 February 2026 at the IESM Building, University of the Philippines Diliman. The students are currently undergoing training under the National Marine Fisheries Development Center of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources as part of their on-the-job training program. The session was facilitated by Assistant Professor Dr. Racoma.

The 2.5-hour lecture introduced fundamental atmospheric processes and their relevance to marine and fisheries contexts. During the open forum, discussions focused on weather and atmospheric phenomena that influence fisheries operations and marine environments. The activity concluded with a 30-minute guided tour of the IESM laboratories, where students were introduced to the Institute’s facilities supporting instruction and research in meteorology and environmental science.
