Several members of the IESM community are serving in the 2026–2027 leadership of the Philippine Meteorological Society (PMS), following the Society’s General Assembly held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on 27 March 2026, where elections for the Board of Trustees were also conducted.

IESM faculty members Dr. Bernard Alan Racoma and Dr. Gerry Bagtasa continue their terms as members of the Board of Trustees. Dr. Rafaela Jane Delfino, also an IESM faculty member, and IESM alumnus Prof. Henrison Sanchez were re-elected to the Board during the General Assembly. IESM alumnus John Ariel Rojas was also elected to the Board, marking his return to PMS leadership. IESM student Mark Daen was elected as Internal Auditor during the same assembly.

Following the elections, Prof. Sanchez was elected Vice President during a special meeting of the Board of Trustees. Other IESM-affiliated officers appointed during the special BoT meeting include Anjela Ilagan, IESM alumna, as Treasurer, and Sandra Julkanain, IESM student, as Assistant Treasurer.

IESM’s participation in the new PMS leadership forms part of its broader engagement with the Society, including its involvement in the recent PMS Annual Convention 2026. IESM also co-hosts the quarterly Meteorological Masterclass with PMS, with the next session, “Extreme Weather During the Hot and Dry Season,” scheduled on 28 May 2026, Thursday.
