The UP Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology (UP IESM) and the Climate and High-Impact Weather Laboratory (CHI Lab) recently welcomed Dr. Aurel Moise, Deputy Director of the Department of Climate Research at the Centre for Climate Research Singapore (CCRS).

During the visit, Dr. Moise shared an overview of CCRS’s climate research initiatives, including climate prediction, the use of the SINGV regional modeling system for high-resolution climate simulations and Singapore’s Third National Climate Change Study (V3), and ongoing and future research on tropical climate variabilities and weather extremes.
Dr. Jane Delfino of CHI Lab and IESM’s Deputy Director for Academic Affairs also introduced the Institute’s graduate degree programs and research activities in meteorology, climate science, environmental science, and high-impact weather. The discussion identified shared research interests and potential opportunities for future collaboration, particularly in tropical climate research, regional climate modeling, and climate prediction.
