Dr. Mylene G. Cayetano Presents on Digital Tools for Air Pollution at ASEAN Workshop

Dr. Mylene G. Cayetano of the Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology (IESM), University of the Philippines Diliman, served as a speaker at the Capacity-Building Workshop on Technology-driven Solutions for Air Pollution under the Clean Air for Sustainable ASEAN (CASA) project, held on 13 to 14 May 2026 in Cebu, Philippines. CASA is an ASEAN cooperation project supported by the ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Fund (AKCF), providing scientific, political, and technical support to ASEAN Member States in mitigating air pollution and its health impacts.

Dr. Cayetano presented during Session 4, titled “Synergizing academe and government to address local and transboundary air pollution through digital tools and scientific evidence,” on 13 May 2026.

The workshop, co-hosted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources through the Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB), Philippines, in partnership with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), gathered representatives from ASEAN Member States, scientists, and technology experts to strengthen regional collaboration on AI-powered and data-driven air quality solutions.
