UP Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology Honored as Valued Partner in ASTICON 2024.

On the 18th day of July 2024, the University of the Philippines Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology (UP IESM) was recently honored with a Plaque of Appreciation by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST ASTI) for being a valued partner through the years.

This recognition highlights UP IESM and DOST ASTI‘s partnership and commitment to pioneering research, digital transformation, and scientific excellence in the Philippines, contributing significantly to the nation’s progress and innovation in science and technology. As leading institutions, their collaborative efforts enhance the global standing of Philippine research and drive advancements in critical areas such as environmental science, information technology, and digital infrastructure.

UP IESM and DOST ASTI’s collaborative projects include Understanding Lightning and Thunderstorms (ULAT), Project WISE: Weather Information-integration for System Enhancement, PHL Microsat Projects 4 and 5, and Stamina4Space. The UP IESM’s faculty, researchers, and students are also end-users of the DOST ASTI’s Computing and Archiving Research Environment (COARE).
