Overview of the IESM Library
The Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology (IESM) Library, established in 2013, is one of the satellite libraries of the College of Science Library, University of the Philippines Diliman. It provides specialized collections and services that support teaching, learning, and research in environmental science and meteorology.


Located on the 2nd floor of the IESM Building, Velasquez Street, National Science Complex, UP Diliman, the library serves undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, researchers, and visiting scholars. It operates under the direct supervision of the Head Librarian of the College of Science Library.
Mandate of the College of Science Library
The College of Science Library is integral to the college’s mission, supporting its fundamental functions of instruction, research, and extension. The Library provides seamless and efficient research data services, which are vital for collating, organizing, tracking, and consolidating research publication and citation data. These services are designed to meet the needs of faculty and researchers for both professional advancement, including promotions, and institutional development, ensuring that the academic and research activities within the College of Science are well-supported and optimized for success.

Borrowing Privileges
- Undergraduate students: 5 circulation books for one week
- Graduate students: 10 circulation books for one week
- Faculty: 10 circulation books for one month
Note: Borrowers are responsible for all materials issued in their name. Overdue fines are charged at Php 2.00 per day (excluding Sundays and holidays). Lost books must be replaced, with an additional 50% surcharge applied.

Digital Resources and Databases
Through the College of Science Library, the IESM Library provides access to a wide range of digital resources and databases that support research, learning, and academic writing.
Key Platforms
- CSLIB eBook Hub – Provides access to more than 5,000 academic titles, available anytime using UP Mail.
- ABCD In-house Database – Contains bibliographic information on Filipiniana, theses, and dissertations.
- TUKLAS – The unified catalog of the UP System for searching books and other resources across all UP libraries.
- Saliktroniko – An e-resource search tool of the University Library for online journals, eBooks, resech papers, and databases.
Science and Multidisciplinary Databases
- Users may access a wide range of science e-resources such as:
ACS, APS, MathSciNet, Science Online, Nature, Taylor & Francis, SpringerNature, - Web of Science, ScienceDirect, Jove, and Labster. These contain peer-reviewed articles in physics, chemistry, biology, and other disciplines.
- In addition, users also have access to a selection of multidisciplinary e-resources covering a variety of subject areas.
- Access via OpenAthens
- All of these digital resources are available both on campus and remotely. Access requires logging in with UP Mail credentials through OpenAthens.
Reference and Writing Tools
To support research writing and academic integrity, the following tools are provided:
- Mendeley / EndNote – For managing references and citations.
- Turnitin Draft Coach – For checking originality and ensuring the quality of drafts.
Research Data Services (RDS)
The College of Science Library, through its Research Data Services (RDS) team, provides seamless support for faculty, researchers, and students in managing research outputs, citations, and publication data. These services are designed to strengthen institutional development, professional advancement, and international visibility of research.
RDS Core Services
- Citation Count and h-index – Compilation of citation counts and h-index for faculty, researchers, and the CS Library website.
- Publication and Citation Reports – Comprehensive publication and citation analysis for individual faculty/researchers, including special reports for promotion purposes.
- Customized Reports – Citation reports with specified years, historical publication reports for all researchers, and detailed publication counts by faculty or institute.
- Institute and College Reports – Monthly, quarterly, and annual publication and citation reports at the institute and college level.
Specific Research Data Requests
- Journal publication details (date, title, type, keywords)
- Indexing information (Scopus, Web of Science, etc.)
- Impact factor and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) alignment
- Open Access status and publisher details
- Article Processing Charges (APC)
- Funding agency, collaborators, editors, and patents
- Metrics such as h-index, i10-index, and certification report

- CS Library Newsletter contributions
- Publication counts at the college, university, and national levels
- Journal checking and verification
- Historical publication lists (including “no publication” records)

Renewal of Access
Send a request to cslib@science.upd.edu.ph and wait for confirmation from the eBook Hub Administrator.
First-Time Registration
- Visit ebookhub.cslib.science.upd.edu.ph.
- Log in with UP Mail credentials.
- Update personal details and accept the terms and conditions.
- Wait for an email from CSLIB requesting Form 5/5A.
- Receive a confirmation email regarding validation.
- After validation, access the homepage on your next login.
- Search for eBooks by author, title, or subject, or browse institute-specific lists.
- Processing and renewal of access requests are completed within 24 hours.
