The University of the Philippines Diliman Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology (UP IESM) hosted the National Capital Region (NCR) leg of MET4YOU 2026 (METeorology for YOUng Scientists: Science, Technology and Innovation) on 24 October 2026 at the IESM Auditorium.

Organized by the Philippine Meteorological Society, Inc. (PMS), in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology–Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI), MET4YOU aims to promote interest in meteorology and related sciences among young learners. The NCR leg featured activities centered on scientific research and innovation. IESM faculty member Dr. Gerry Bagtasa delivered a message to the participants, while Dr. Bernard Alan Racoma gave a brief introduction to the Institute. Both also served on the panel of judges for the competition.
The event adds to IESM’s continuing engagement with PMS in meteorology education and outreach. Earlier this year, the Institute partnered with PMS to host MeTOURology 2026, which featured introductory talks and laboratory visits for students. IESM faculty, students, and alumni also participated in the PMS Annual Convention 2026, contributing to professional exchanges in meteorology and related fields.
