Nadine Reece Florentino recently presented her research on the influence of Laguna Lake on temperature and rainfall in Metro Manila at the Asia Oceania Geosciences Society (AOGS) 2026 Annual Meeting in Fukuoka, Japan.

She presented her poster, “The Influence of Laguna Lake on Temperature and Rainfall in Metro Manila,” on 5 August 2026.

Florentino studied Meteorology at the UP Diliman Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology (IESM).

Her study used numerical simulations to examine how Laguna Lake may influence local temperature and rainfall patterns. The findings may contribute to a better understanding of the lake’s role in shaping weather and climate conditions in Metro Manila and nearby areas
