
Dr. Rafaela Jane P. Delfino of the Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology (IESM), University of the Philippines Diliman, delivered a presentation at the DOST-PAGASA Scientific Forum on 23 March 2026. The activity was held in celebration of the 161st National and 76th World Meteorological Day. The forum forms part of DOST-PAGASA’s annual observance of World Meteorological Day.

Dr. Delfino’s presentation, titled “Tropical Cyclones and Climate Change in the Philippines: Past, Present, and Future,” was featured under Session 1: Recent Advances in Meteorological Research. In her talk, she shared findings from ongoing research at the Climate and High-impact Weather (CHI) Laboratory of IESM, highlighting developments in understanding tropical cyclone behavior in the context of a changing climate.
