Faculty members, students, and alumni of the Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology (IESM), University of the Philippines Diliman, participated in Day 1 of the Philippine Meteorological Society (PMS) Annual Convention 2026. The convention is guided by the theme “Bridging Science, Practice, and Learning Opportunities: Strengthening Meteorology for a Disaster-ready Philippines,” and follows pre-convention activities held on 23 March.

The first day of the convention included presentations and sessions on meteorology and related fields. Participants from IESM attended alongside representatives from academic institutions, government agencies, and partner organizations. IESM faculty members Dr. Gerry Bagtasa, Dr. Rafaela Jane P. Delfino, and Dr. Bernard Alan Racoma also serve as members of the PMS Board of Trustees.

The PMS Annual Convention continues on 25 March 2026, with additional sessions and activities scheduled for Day 2.
