The Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology (IESM), University of the Philippines Diliman, received two recognitions at the 3rd Bantayog ng Lawa Awards organized by the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) on 16 October 2026 at Novotel Manila Araneta City, Quezon City.

IESM received the Bantayog Para sa Kaunlaran Award for its AI-SWAMP project, led by Mayzonee V. Ligaray, PhD, with project staff Rafaela Jane Delfino, PhD, Bernard Alan B. Racoma, PhD, and Mylene G. Cayetano, RcH, PhD. The award recognizes institutions and innovators for their contributions to research, development, and innovations supporting the sustainable development of Laguna de Bay.

Meanwhile, Mylene G. Cayetano, RcH, PhD, received the Kababaihan ng Lawa Award, which recognizes women leaders for their contributions to the protection and sustainable management of Laguna de Bay.

IESM Director Cherry L. Ringor, PhD, together with Dr. Ligaray and Dr. Cayetano, received the recognitions during the awarding ceremony.
