Two IESM alumni received presentation awards at the 14th Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program (ASTHRDP) Graduate Scholars’ Conference in Iloilo City. Alyssa Tobias, an MS Environmental Science graduate, was named Best MS Poster Presenter in Category 1: Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, while Kate Lupena, an MS Meteorology graduate, received Best MS Oral Presenter in the same category.

Tobias was selected from among 126 poster presenters, while Lupena was recognized from among 43 oral presenters. Both are advisees of IESM faculty member Dr. Rafaela Jane P. Delfino.

The awards follow the participation of IESM Meteorology and Environmental Science graduate students in the conference through oral and poster presentations. The annual ASTHRDP Graduate Scholars’ Conference provides graduate scholars with a venue to present their research to a broader academic audience and engage with work from other science and technology fields.
