The Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology (IESM) congratulates Dr. Rene Rollon, Professor of Environmental Science, for being honored at the Governor’s Excellence Awards for Sustainable Environment and Climate Action, held in Bohol this July 2025, in celebration of the province’s 171st founding anniversary.

Dr. Rollon was recognized for his longstanding contributions to environmental research, education, and advocacy, particularly in marine biodiversity, ecosystem restoration, and coastal resilience. His work has supported conservation efforts across the country, often in close partnership with local communities and institutions.

The Provincial Government of Bohol, a designated UNESCO Global Geopark, expressed its appreciation for Dr. Rollon’s continued collaboration in advancing their environmental initiatives. His involvement has helped build local capacity and momentum toward more sustainable management of the island’s natural resources.
