Ms. Anjela A. Ilagan (MS Meteorology, 2024) won the Best in Oral Presentation in the MS Category (Physical, Chemical, and Earth Sciences) at the 12th Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program (ASTHRDP) Graduate Scholars’ Conference held on 12-13 September 2024 in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. She presented her MS thesis titled “Meteorological Drivers of Storm Surge Events in the Ilocos Region,” showcasing her research on this critical topic.

The Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) honored the winners of this year’s conference, which centered on the theme “Artificial Intelligence: Embracing Change and Ethical Use in Research.” The event celebrated the hard work and dedication of graduate scholars from various institutions, highlighting the exceptional research contributions made by students like Ms. Ilagan.
